Building operators in Adelaide's south are being urged to decontaminate air-conditioning and industrial cooling towers following three cases of Legionnaires' disease.

SA Health says two men and a woman from the southern suburbs ranging in age from 58 to 77 have been hospitalised after contracting the respiratory infection.

It says it's not yet clear if the cases are related and the source has not been identified.
