Tigers aim for better AFL form at home

Richmond will start strong favourites against GWS, but they have only won three of their seven MCG games so far this season.

After some stunning wins on the road, Richmond's AFL destiny this season will hinge on whether they can show better consistency at home.

The Tigers should consolidate their strong form in Saturday's MCG match against injury-plagued GWS.

Richmond will field an unchanged side and deserve their favouritism.

But they have only won three of their seven MCG games so far this season.

A fortnight ago, West Coast beat them at the ground.

After massive away wins in the last two months over Port Adelaide, Fremantle and Sydney, the Tigers only travel interstate once for the rest of the season.

Like the Giants, they are 7-5 - but the two teams appear headed in opposite directions on the ladder.

Richmond have won four of their last five games - the Giants have lost three of their last four.

GWS ruckman Tom Downie is one of four inclusions and he faces a massive challenge against the Tigers' Ivan Maric.

This will be Downie's second senior game and his first in nearly two years.

Giants vice-captain Tom Scully will return from illness and they also recalled Curtly Hampton and Adam Kennedy.

Hampton played 47 matches in three seasons, but this will be his first senior game since being dropped after round one.
