Wests Tigers centre Tim Simona will miss a month of NRL action due to an ankle injury, the club announced on Monday.

Simona suffered an ankle injury while playing for Samoa in Saturday night's Test against Tonga on the Gold Coast.

"Following scans on Sunday night, Simona has sustained syndesmosis in his ankle and is expected to miss four weeks, with a scheduled return in round 13," the Tigers said in a statement on Monday.

The injury rules Simona out of Friday's round nine clash with Sydney Roosters, the round 10 match against Newcastle, round 11 versus North Queensland and the Gold Coast clash in round 13 following their round 12 bye.
