Wests Tigers star Mitch Moses has vowed not to cave in to calls for the NRL side to rein in their attacking instincts, despite failing to register a win in the past month.
After starting the year on fire with consecutive rampant victories, the Tigers have since cooled right off, dropping their past four games, including being the first team to lose to lowly Newcastle.
But five-eighth Moses insists he has no intention on shelving their eyes-up football style, claiming their attack has put them in position to win most of their games.
"We're not going to rein it in at all," Moses said on Wednesday.
"Everyone's saying that we need to rein it in, (that) we've been dropping the balls. But we've put on enough points to finish off games. It's just knowing when to just complete and get a kick away."
However, the 21-year-old did admit they get carried away with wanting to pile on the points, and instead need to focus on completing sets after scoring.
"We score a few points and then we're thinking we have to keep scoring. That's the mentality we need to get out of. We just need to fine-tune that," he said.
"We're trying to sort out the message that, after points, we've got to complete. We were doing that outstanding over the first couple of rounds. We've got to get back to that mentality."
The next month looms as a crucial period for the club, with Moses giving himself four weeks to decide on whether to take up a player-option to stay at Concord another season.
Halves partner Luke Brooks is in the same position.
But Moses, the nephew of Balmain legend Ben Elias, said he was far happier with his efforts over the opening six rounds of the year.
"I'm really enjoying my footy compared to last year, (when) I was low on confidence. I'm playing with a lot of confidence at the moment," he said.
"Last year taught me so much in the way we played. How I'm playing at the moment, I feel like I'm a lot more matured as a player and playing with a lot more calm and patience."
Asked what would be the biggest factor in his decision, Moses said: "Where I'm going to play my best footy. I'm happy with the Tigers, but where I'm going to play my best footy. That's all I'm focused on."
