Tigers yet to offer me top job: Webster

Interim Wests Tigers coach Andrew Webster has spoken for the first time since temporarily standing in for the sacked Jason Taylor at the NRL club.

Interim Wests Tigers coach Andrew Webster says the club is yet to approach him about taking on the head role beyond this week's clash against Melbourne.

Webster will hold the clipboard for the first time on Sunday following the shock axing of Jason Taylor less than a month into the NRL season but isn't sure if he'll be offered a long-term role.

Asked on Wednesday if the club had approached him about coaching full time, Webster said: "No, I just got told did I want to take the extra responsibility and I said I would."
