Gold Coast coach Neil Henry is hopeful of a speedy resolution to the saga surrounding the five players caught up in allegations of cocaine use.
The Titans flew out of Queensland on Thursday heading for Bathurst where they'll play Penrith in their round two NRL clash.
They departed without State of Origin stars Greg Bird and Dave Taylor as well as Beau Falloon, Jamie Dowling and Kalifa Faifai Loa, who all remain stood down despite having made their initial court appearances on a variety of drug charges.
All five were hoping to be available for the Panthers clash but the Titans have delayed a decision after announcing on Wednesday they were seeking independent legal advice on what to do.
Henry said while it was clear the issue will now drag into next week, he's hopeful that'll be the end of the matter.
"We don't want this to drag on," Henry said.
"Hopefully the boys can get back with their teammates next week."
Henry suffered a late setback before departing to take on the Panthers with winger Kevin Gordon ruled out after breaking his nose in training on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury in an accidental collision with Leva Li, opening the door for Anthony Don to come into the line-up.
"He was in the right position to stop a pass and did it too well and got an elbow," Henry said.
"Anthony gets his opportunity. He played fullback in Q-Cup on the weekend and had a good game for Burleigh."
