Tod-Elliott signs for Mystics

Former Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic defender Jodi Tod-Elliott will play for the Northern Mystics in the 2014 trans-Tasman netball league.

Defender Jodi Tod-Elliott is the latest trans-Tasman netball league player to move from the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic to the Northern Mystics.

She will join Silver Ferns midcourter Laura Langman and world youth championship-winning New Zealand Under-21 vice-captain Nadia Loveday at the Auckland-based franchise.

Tod-Elliott has been with the Magic since the inception of the championship in 2008, missing the 2012 season for family reasons.

The announcement of her move comes two weeks after Mystics and Silver Ferns defender Kayla Cullen suffered a serious knee injury.

Coach Debbie Fuller says the Mystics need to have competition experience to add to the defence end.
