Todd returns for Crusaders in Super Rugby

Flanker Matt Todd has returned from a rib injury to boost the Crusaders for their Super Rugby match against the Lions in Johannesburg.

All Blacks flanker Matt Todd will start for the Crusaders in Monday's Super Rugby clash against the Lions in Johannesburg.

Todd returns after missing last week's 33-14 win over the Bulls in Christchurch with a rib injury and is coach Scott Robertson's sole change to his forward pack for what will be a repeat of last year's Super Rugby final.

Bryn Hall will start at halfback with Mitch Drummond providing cover on the bench while Seta Tamanivalu returns on the wing and Manasa Mataele moves to the reserves.

First five-eighth Mike Delany has recovered from the jarred knee he suffered at training before the Highlanders match and will wear the No. 22 jersey this week.

The Lions are coming off a 49-35 loss last week to the Jaguares in Buenos Aires, their second defeat of the season after they lost 38-35 to the Blues on March 11

Crusaders: David Havili, Seta Tamanivalu, Jack Goodhue, Ryan Crotty, George Bridge, Mitchell Hunt, Bryn Hall, Jordan Taufua, Matt Todd, Heiden Bedwell-Curtis, Sam Whitelock (capt), Scott Barrett, Michael Alaalatoa, Codie Taylor, Tim Perry. Reserves: Ben Funnell, Wyatt Crockett, Oliver Jager, Quinten Strange, Tom Sanders, Mitchell Drummond, Mike Delany, Manasa Maaele.
