Transport and logistics firm Toll Holdings has won a $90 million contract to build a logistics base for oil producer INPEX in Darwin.

Transport and logistics group Toll Holdings has won a $90 million, 10-year contract to build and operate a new logistics base gor global oil and gas producer INPEX.

Toll will design, construct and operate the INPEX-operated Ichthys liquified natural gas (LNG) project's Offshore Logistics Base in the Northern Territory.

Toll will also provide ongoing logistical support for the project in the Browse Basin, located off the northern coast of Western Australia.

The logistics base will supply materials to major offshore facilities in the Ichthys Field, which is about 820 kilometres southwest of Darwin, in the Browse Basin.

Construction of the base is expected to be finished in early 2015 and be fully operational later that year.

Toll shares were up 2.5 cents at $5.455 at 1252 AEDT.
