Quarterback Tom Brady enjoyed a winning return from his 'deflategate' suspension as the New England Patriots extended the Cleveland Browns' losing start to the NFL season.
The Patriots star missed the first four games of the campaign as he served a suspension in relation to deflated footballs used in an AFC Championship game in 2015.
But he made up for lost time by throwing for 406 yards and three touchdowns to Martellus Bennett in a 33-13 triumph for the Patriots, who lost their 100 per cent record to the Buffalo Bills last time out.
"I try to go out and do my best. I know my teammates expect that out of me and I expect that out of them,'' Brady said before admitting there were mistakes.
"Absolutely, there definitely were a few of those and they are the ones you learn from. I can do better in a lot of areas.''
It was a fifth straight loss for a Cleveland team that never recovered after taking a 23-7 deficit into halftime on Sunday (Monday AEDT).
In other action, Adam Thielen made a career-high 127 yards as the Minnesota Vikings continued their perfect start with a 31-13 win over the Houston Texans.
In Wisconsin, Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes to lead the Packers to a 23-16 win over New York.
Rodgers was 23 of 45 for 259 yards and also threw two interceptions. Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams each had highlight-reel touchdown catches to help the Packers (3-1) build an 11-point halftime lead.
New York's Eli Manning was 18 of 35 for 199 yards and was sacked three times.
Detriot beat Philadelphia 24-23 with Matt Prater kicking a late 29-yard field goal.
