Tomic qualifies for Dutch grass event

Bernard Tomic has made it through the qualifiers to play the Libema Open on grass in the Netherlands ahead of Wimbledon qualifying.

Bernard Tomic has received an early grasscourt season boost, qualifying for the tournament at Rosmalen in the Netherlands.

Struggling to re-establish himself in tennis' upper echelon, the 25-year-old Australian beat Germany's Dustin Brown 6-4 7-6 then overcame American Tim Smyczek 6-4 6-2 to reach the main draw.

He's expected to move back inside the top 200 rankings on Monday as he prepares for Wimbledon, where he will likely also need to qualify.

Former world No.17 Tomic made it through the qualifiers of the French Open recently before crashing out in the first round to Marco Trungelliti.
