Tomljanovic joins Aussie exodus in Paris

Alja Tomljanovic has become the fifth Australian first-round loser at the French Open following a three-set defeat to 2016 semi-finalist Kiki Bertens.

Alja Tomljanovic is the latest Australian to crash out of the French Open in Paris.

Tomljanovic raised hopes of an upset after taking the first set before fading to a 4-6 6-1 6-1 loss to 18th seed Kiki Bertens, a semi-finalist last year at Roland Garros.

No Australians have progressed to the second round yet, with Bernard Tomic, John Millman and teenage wildcards Alex Di Minaur and Jaimee Fourlis also losing their openers over the first two days.
