Parramatta will wait until Tony Williams returns to court next month on a drink-driving charge before determining a punishment for the former international rugby league star.
Williams faced Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday over the matter, after he was charged last month with mid-range drink-driving.
The matter was adjourned until February 14 to allow for the former NSW State of Origin and Kangaroos player to complete a safe driving course.
"Tony did make the club aware of the situation immediately and the NRL integrity unit was informed as per our normal process," the Eels said in a statement.
"Once the legal process has been completed, the club will work with Tony and his management on the relevant next steps."
Williams contacted the club straight after being pulled over for a roadside test. Under the players' agreement, he cannot face any sanction from the game until after the court case has concluded.
Williams signed with Parramatta over the off-season, after a knee injury derailed his efforts to crack into Cronulla's first-grade side in 2017.
A premiership winner at Manly, Williams moved to Canterbury as a big-name signing in 2013 but his form dropped significantly towards the end of his stint at the Bulldogs in 2016.
The second-rower was hopeful of breaking into Parramatta's top side at the start of the pre-season, but admitted even he was surprised he had been handed a lifeline by the club.
The matter is the second drama to plague a Parramatta recruit this summer, with Jarryd Hayne confirming he will deny a rape allegation in a civil suit stemming from his time in the NFL.
