Torch-gun found in Gold Coast drug raid

A home-made shotgun, disguised as a torch, has been found during a Gold Coast drug raid.

A home-made shotgun disguised as a torch has been seized during drug raids on the Gold Coast.

Police say they discovered the weapon at a house in Molendinar on Thursday during one of two raids that were part of a drug distribution investigation.

The property had come under police suspicion after an earlier search of a home at Varsity Lakes where about 50 grams of amphetamines and drug utensils were found.

A .22 calibre revolver, 122 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of cannabis were also found in a vehicle at the Molendinar property.

A Varsity Lakes man, 35, will face Southport Magistrates Court on Friday on various drugs and weapons charges.

Police expect to make further arrests.
