Tori Spelling hopes to "set the record straight" with her new reality show which will feature her marital troubles with spouse Dean McDermott.
The 40-year-old former Beverly Hills 90210 star is currently experiencing a rough patch with McDermott, who admitted cheating on her and checked himself into rehab to deal with "health and personal issues".
The couple document their marital strife in the new programme True Tori.
"Our family has been going through an incredibly difficult and trying time, and the story of what I've been going through has been told by everyone except for me," the mother-of-four shared on her ediTORIAL blog on Monday.
Spelling said it was time to set the record straight, blaming the tabloid media for getting it wrong in the past.
She claims to want to have the opportunity to express herself authentically.
"I needed the chance to tell my own story," Spelling wrote.
"At the moment, I don't know if it will have a happy ending.
"But I need to get my voice back, and this is my way of doing that."
In a new promo clip for True Tori, Dean is filmed complaining about the lacklustre sex life he shares with his wife.
"We had sex once every two weeks. It wasn't fantastic," he said.
The show premieres on April 22 in the US.
