Torrential rain sees Albania-Macedonia qualifier abandoned

TIRANA (Reuters) - A torrential downpour caused Albania's World Cup qualifier at home to Macedonia to be abandoned in the 76th minute with the score at 1-1 at the Loro Borici stadium in Shkoder on Monday.

The referee led the players off after the deluge reduced visibility and made the pitch unplayable. UEFA said the rest of the Group G game would be played at a time to be confirmed.

Armando Sadiku had given Albania a ninth-minute lead and Ezdjan Alioski equalised six minutes into the second half.
