Tourist group treated at Sydney hospital for vomiting, nausea

A group of Japanese tourists are being treated at a Sydney hospital for nausea and vomiting.

Infection control measures have been enforced at Sydney's Liverpool Hospital after 25 Japanese tourists presented at its emergency department suffering nausea and vomiting.

Officials from the South Western Sydney Local Health District told SBS the infection control measures have been put in place as a precaution, and an area in emergency has been isolated.

"They are still being assessed but their symptoms are consistent with food poisoning," a health department spokesperson told SBS.

The tourists are still being assessed but are considered stable.

MORE TO COME.
