TPI buys Melb landfill for $165m

Transpacific Industries will pay $165 million to buy the Melbourne Western Landfill, the city's largest tip, from Boral.

Transpacific Industries will buy Melbourne's largest waste tip, the Melbourne Western Landfill, for $165 million.

TPI will pay Boral $150 million to buy the business plus $15 million for site preparation work.

Boral will also receive long-term earnings from TPI in the form of fixed payments and volume-based royalties for the life of the landfill, in Melbourne's west.
