This year almost 100 journalists and media crew have died reporting on frontlines around the world, from Syria and Egypt, to Pakistan, Somalia and Turkey.
But in Thailand, a secretive military-style training camp is helping to train journalists to survive in life-threatening environments and trouble hotspots around the globe.
The Feed's Patrick Abboud gained unprecedented access to the Pak Chong camp and joined 20 other journalists in an intensive training course.
He spoke with Darren Mara about the rigours of conflict training.
