Transurban has lifted its first half profit slightly following an increase in revenues from its toll roads.
Transurban made a profit of $81 million for the six months to December 31, up from $80.9 million a year ago.
The slight increase came amid a more than 13 per cent rise in revenue from the company's toll roads to $498 million during the half year.
However, total revenue, which includes income from construction, management and business development, was down 2.3 per cent at $572 million.
Chief executive Scott Charlton said the company would continue to look for growth opportunities during the second half of the year.
"Our focus in FY14 remains clear: to operate our networks of urban roads safely and efficiently, and to pursue growth opportunities that make sense within our existing footprints," he said in a statement on Thursday.
Transurban owns Melbourne's CityLink and the Lane Cove Tunnel, Cross City Tunnel and M2 and M5 Motorways in Sydney.
