Trapped teen winched from NSW blowhole

An 18-year-old man has been winched to safety near a NSW Central Coast blowhole after emergency crews received triple-zero calls reporting a youth was trapped.

A teenager who was trapped in a blowhole has been been winched to safety after being strapped to a paramedic suspended from a rescue helicopter, in a dramatic rescue on the NSW Central Coast.

A triple-zero call was received about 10.50am on Monday with emergency services racing to Snapper Point Rd at Frazer Park, NSW Ambulance said.

The 18-year-old was with a large group of people who were jumping off the rocks when he was swept into the cave, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said in a statement.

The paramedic was lowered from the helicopter by rope into the water and secured the young man before they were both winched back to the aircraft.

The teen was returned to the car park above the cave without injury and the Westpac helicopter returned to its base.
