Trial starts to give 3000 families nannies

Police, nurses and health workers are among the 3000 families who will soon get access to taxpayer subsidised nannies as part of a trial.

Almost 3000 Australian families are set to be paired with a taxpayer-subsidised nanny as part of a federal government trial.

Parents taking part in the pilot program will be contacted this week to begin the pairing process.

Nearly 90 per cent of the families who applied indicated that at least one parent worked shift-work or irregular hours, including more than 1000 police officers, nurses and health professionals.
