Tributes flow for Deadly Awards creator Gavin Jones

Members of the Indigenous and Arts communities are paying tribute to Indigenous trailblazer Gavin Jones, following the news of his sudden death.

Members of the Indigenous and Arts communities are paying tribute to Indigenous trailblazer Gavin Jones, following the news of his sudden death.

Gavin Jones was well known as the founder and director of the annual Deadly Awards - which honour the best of Indigenous music, sport, and entertainment.

He died at the weekend - at the age of 48.

The Executive Producer and host of Living Black on SBS TV, Karla Grant was his friend and colleague for more than 20 years.

She's told Brianna Roberts he will be missed.
