Truck catches fire on Melbourne freeway

A tip truck has erupted in flames on the outbound lanes of the Monash freeway in Melbourne, but no one has been hurt.

A truck has caught fire on Melbourne's Monash Freeway.

The tip truck, carrying rubbish on the outbound lanes, erupted in flames just before 7am, an MFB spokesman said.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and no one was injured.

The truck's fuel tank ruptured and crews need to dispose of 300 litres of fuel.
