Trucking body 'appalled' at Vic drug video

The Australian Trucking Association's chief of staff says he is appalled at footage of a driver appearing to take drugs, and it doesn't represent the industry.

The Australian Trucking Association is appalled by footage of a Victorian truck driver appearing to take illegal drugs while driving, saying "this isn't us".

A widely distributed Facebook video shows a man, wearing a Shepparton transport company uniform, snorting a line of white powder and smoking from a pipe before saying "well, that's breakfast".

"I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm appalled. Most employers in the trucking industry have random drug and alcohol tests to pick up this sort of thing ... drivers who do this will get caught," ATA chief of staff Bill McKinley told Nine Network on Friday.
