Tube blast throws wedding plans into chaos

There has been a happy ending for a couple whose wedding venue was in the centre of London's terror lockdown following a bomb blast on a train.

A couple's wedding day plans were plunged into chaos when their choice of venue was caught at the centre of the London terror lockdown.

The Bishop of Kensington Dr Graham Tomlin revealed frantic efforts were made to find a new place for the pair to tie the knot after a vast police cordon was installed around St Dionis Church.

The explosion on a District Line train passing through Parsons Green station had prompted a mass evacuation of the area, which saw the church and other buildings sealed off.

Nuptial bliss was salvaged for the prospective man and wife, however, as All Saints Church in west London, was made available for them to use.

"There was a wedding due to take place here at St Dionis, the parish church that is around a hundred yards down the road, this afternoon," Bishop Tomlin, who was visiting the site of the atrocity, said.

"That, of course, had to be moved because the church was actually within the security cordon.

"We had to move quite quickly, moving a wedding is quite a complicated legal business, we managed to make it work so the couple could get married in All Saints Church, the parish next door.

"I think that is going on right now.

"It is a bit of a sign that life can continue and good things happen really, in the middle of something deeply evil like this."
