Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has received a briefing from federal police commissioner Andrew Colvin as he settles into his new role.

Malcolm Turnbull is settling into his new role as prime minister, receiving a briefing from the federal police commissioner.

Mr Turnbull sat down with Andrew Colvin in Parliament House on Friday, just days after assuming the top job.

He will also meet Reserve Bank governor Glenn Stevens who made his six-monthly appearance before the house economics committee.
