SHAUN MiCALLEF'S MAD AS HELL - ABC1, 8.00pm

Shaun Micallef's uniquely wacky and dry sense of humour has gladly returned to wrap up the week's news in a way that only comedian Shaun can. If you've never had the pleasure of cackling through this witty half-hour that tears apart and meddles with the latest news, current affairs and politics, where have you been? Featuring fake interviews, sketches and send-ups, it's a highly critical look at news and media, albeit under the veil of comedy. With a new government in power ready to be lampooned and analysed, expect Mad As Hell to be as incisive and politically incorrect as ever. It's like a naughty martini among the rows of orange juice.

THE BIGGEST LOSER: CHALLENGE AUSTRALIA - TEN, 7.30pm

Wedged in between the athleticism of the Winter Olympic Games is The Biggest Loser. After admiring the fit and finesse of the athletes' bodies, it's a bit of a smack in the face to turn to the other side of the coin as our contestants grapple with trying to find a semblance of fitness and claw back their pride. Tonight, this week's elimination round might thankfully be over for the contestants, but a feeling of relief is absent as one team struggles to cope after losing one of their own. Meanwhile, friend and foe The Fridge shows its shiny face in the competition again, bringing big changes for one contestant.
