Police arrested Marcus Stanford, the 24-year-old twin of accused killer Vincent Stanford, on Wednesday morning at a house in Forreston, South Australia, and searched the property.

A South Australian court has cleared the way for a 24-year-old man to be extradited to Sydney from Adelaide after being arrested in relation to the murder of NSW schoolteacher Stephanie Scott.

Stanford will remain in custody in Adelaide overnight on Wednesday and is scheduled to board a flight to Sydney tomorrow morning.

He's expected to be charged with being an accessory after the fact to Ms Scott's murder in the NSW Riverina town of Leeton in April.

The 26-year-old bride-to-be disappeared six days before her wedding.

She had been at her workplace - Leeton High School - on April 5 where she was getting her work in order ahead of her honeymoon.

School cleaner Vincent Stanford, 24, was later charged with Ms Scott's murder after police found photos of a burned body and blood, allegedly in his car.

He has also been charged with sexually assaulting Ms Scott before her death.

Ms Scott's burned remains were found in a national park, more than 70km from Leeton, a day before her wedding.
