Two men have been crushed to death in Victoria's east, sparking police investigations into the separate accidents.

A man aged in his 50s died after a steel item fell from a forklift at a recycling business in Forster around midday on Saturday, police said on Monday.

Worksafe is investigating.

On Friday night a man in his 30s died on a forest track at Reedy Flat after rolling a quad bike.

Neither death is being treated as suspicious, police said.

Victorian Farmers Federation says 22 people were killed and about 70 were injured in quad bike accidents across Australia in 2015.
