The federal government has put a temporary two month ban on the supply of hoverboards which don't meet safety standards.

An Australian Competition and Consumer Commission investigation linked the boards to four house fires in Australia.

"It's the charging device that has been linked with a lot of the problems related to the hoverboards," Assistant Treasurer Kelly O'Dwyer told the Seven Network.
