The resurgent Matt Ebden and journeyman John-Patrick Smith have boosted Australia's US Open stocks with successful qualifying campaigns.
Ebden, who tumbled outside the world's top 350 earlier this year, beat Britain's Brydan Klein 6-3 6-3 in the final round of qualifying on Friday.
A late-blooming graduate from the US college ranks, 26-year-old Smith scored a 6-3 6-2 victory over Guilherme Clezar to give Australia 14 players - nine men and five women - in the main singles draws in New York.
After contesting just one previous major - the Australian Open in 2013 - Smith has now qualified for two in a row after also making his Wimbledon debut this year.
Ebden will step straight into a tough first-round clash with Bulgaria's 17th seed Grigor Dimitrov while Smith battles Russian veteran Mikhail Youzhny.
A win or two for Ebden and Smith would further improve their rankings as they bid to push towards the top 100 in order to secure direct entry to next year's Australian Open in January.
Australia's men will be led by 24th seed Bernard Tomic, while 2011 champion Samantha Stosur spearheads the women's assault.
The final slam of the year gets underway on Monday with Australians handed a horror draw on Friday.
Two-time grand slam quarter-finalist Nick Kyrgios has the toughest first-round assignment.
In his first event since being hit with a fine and 28-day suspended ban for his sledging of Stan Wawrinka in Montreal, Kyrgios faces third-seeded 2012 champion Andy Murray.
