Former first-round draft pick Brad McKenzie and key defender Joel Tippett are the latest casualties of North Melbourne's AFL list overhaul.
Veterans Brent Harvey, Drew Petrie, Nick Dal Santo and Michael Firrito were sensationally told they were not part of the club's plans for next season ahead of the Roos'ill-fated finals campaign.
McKenzie and Tippett were told they would not be offered contracts for 2017 on Wednesday.
"These decisions are always tough," club football boss Cameron Joyce said.
"Both Brad and Joel have been great contributors during their time with us and we sincerely wish them all the best.
"Hopefully they can continue their AFL careers because both are very capable players."
McKenzie was the 18th player overall picked at the 2011 draft and played a career-high 14 games this season to take his overall tally to 37.
Tippett was elevated from the Roos' rookie list in 2014 and played nine games in stints with Gold Coast and North Melbourne.
Robin Nahas and Farren Ray have also departed Arden St as coach Brad Scott looks to reshape his squad.
The Kangaroos welcomed Marley Williams (Collingwood), Paul Ahern (Greater Western Sydney) and Nathan Hrovat (Western Bulldogs) during the recent trade period.
