Two women arrested over rowdy Sydney party

Two women have been arrested and charged following an unruly party in Sydney's east.

Police who shut down a rowdy party in Sydney's east have arrested and charged a woman with assault and resisting arrest.

About 11.30pm (AEDT) on Saturday police were called to a home at Tamarama after receiving complaints of excessive noise.

Police said officers found people consuming alcohol outside the premises and arrested a 25-year-old woman who was charged with assaulting police, offensive behaviour, resisting arrest and escaping lawful custody.

She was granted conditional bail to appear in Waverley Local Court on April 8.

A 19-year-old woman was also arrested after she allegedly attempted to assault police while they were arresting the other woman, and OC spray was used.

She was charged with hindering police and was given a field court attendance notice to also appear before Waverley Local Court on April 8.

No one was injured during the incident.
