Uber driver faces court over WA assault

A 51-year-old Perth man will face an indecent assault charge in court for the first time, with police claiming he preyed on a 20-year-old female passenger.

An Uber driver accused of indecently assaulting a female passenger is scheduled to face Perth Magistrates Court.

Police charged the 51-year-old Scarborough man last week, alleging he preyed on the 20-year-old woman during a trip from a house in Perth's southern suburbs on June 27.

They advised Uber management and the Department of Transport of the arrest.
