UK terror arrest linked to Melbourne raids

Victoria Police have confirmed a teen arrested in the UK was intercepted speaking with an Australian in connection to an IS inspired attack in Aus.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in the United Kingdom linked to Melbourne terror raids over the weekend.

Manchester police arrested the boy in connection with an alleged Islamic State-inspired plan to attack Anzac Day events in Australia.

The boy was arrested in Blackburn on Saturday "on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism and remains in police custody for questioning," Greater Manchester Police said in a statement.

Victoria Police say they received information from UK authorities after they allegedly uncovered communications between the teenager and a man in Australia.
