The trial of a 14-year-old British boy accused of inciting an attack on an Anzac Day parade in Australia and a beheading has been fast-tracked to August.

The teenager was arrested in Blackburn in connection with an alleged plan to stage an attack at events to mark the centenary of the First World War Anzac landings.

He is accused of two offences of inciting terrorism overseas.

The defendant, who is in youth custody, was excused attending a hearing at the Old Bailey.

The judge set August 17 for a four-week trial to start at Manchester Crown Court sitting in Crown Square.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will enter his pleas via video link.
