UN criticism of Manus centre 'to be addressed'

Australia and PNG have promised to address stinging UN criticism over the Manus Island detention centre.

Australia and Papua New Guinea have promised to address stinging criticism from the United Nations over the Australian asylum-seeker detention centre on Manus Island.

 

It was one of the key issues discussed during a one-day visit to PNG by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

 

Other issues included a plan to send Australian police to PNG, and trade and investment.
