Under the cover of the New York Times

There is now a new way to hide your online reading from others - or at least to make it more respectable.

Reading a tabloid online in the office means you run the risk of getting contemptuous glances from your boss and colleagues.

Timesify removes that risk. When the free program is running, anything on your screen can be made to look like a New York Times article - at least in terms of layout - with the touch of a button.

To make it happen, open http://www.timesify.com and pull the Timesify icon over to your browser.

Then, whenever it becomes necessary to camouflage something trashy you're reading as a New York Times piece, just click on the Timesify icon.

The layout of your page will be altered so it matches that of the New York Times, including an innocuous headline, a picture that leads to a real report and a short description, in case someone asks for more detail about what you're looking at.

Once the danger has passed, your original article remains underneath the camouflage.
