A union representing low-paid workers has expressed anger over the federal government's proposed changes to the Fair Work Act.
The Coalition has introduced legislation to allow penalty rates, overtime rates and leave loadings to be traded for non-monetary benefits.
Victoria-based union, United Voice says the changes will strongly disadvantage workers in traditionally low-paid jobs such as the hospitality industry, paramedics and cleaners.
The group's Jess Walsh has told Zara Zaher that workers on unsociable shifts, such as permanent night shift, should be given compensation through penalty rates.
