Union boss doesn't want 'dull' budget

Australian Council of Trade Unions secretary Dave Oliver is concerned by the prime minister's depiction of the next federal budget as dull.

Australia needs more investment in job creation and not a dull budget, a senior trade union official says.

ACTU secretary Dave Oliver is deeply concerned Prime Minister Tony Abbott is lauding as "dull" his government's second budget, due to be handed down next week.

"What this country needs is a government that's going to show some leadership, some vision particularly on jobs," Mr Oliver told ABC radio ahead of his Wednesday lunchtime address to the National Press Club in Canberra.
