Any federal royal commission into alleged union corruption should look at Queensland, the state government says.
The call follows reports a convicted Brisbane drug dealer used a contact in a building union to score a job on a Queensland hospital project despite lacking the relevant experience.
Federal Employment Minister Eric Abetz says the coalition is still considering options for an inquiry.
