Update on SA nuclear energy inquiry

Commissioner Kevin Scarce will update South Australians on the progress of the state's nuclear energy inquiry and what lies ahead.

The head of South Australia's royal commission into nuclear energy will on Friday explain his inquiry's progress and the results of his overseas trip.

Commissioner Kevin Scarce visited the US and Canada this month on a fact-finding mission to meet regulatory agencies, technical experts and private organisations to discuss their experience with nuclear activities and the nuclear fuel cycle.

Mr Scarce visited Taiwan, Japan, Finland, Austria, France and Britain earlier this year, where he met more than 150 representatives from 40 international organisations.

He will outline the lessons from those visits and the commission's current activities, including engaging remote and regional communities and the the submissions process.
