US 10-year Treasury auction fetches 2.61%

The US Treasury Department has auctioned $US24 billion of 10-year notes at a high yield of 2.61 per cent.

The US Treasury has sold $US24 billion ($A25.97 billion) in 10-year bonds at a high yield of 2.61 per cent, falling from 2.72 per cent in April.

The Treasury on Wednesday said 82.17 per cent was allotted at the high yield.

The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.63, with direct bidders taking up 21.62 per cent of the issue and indirect bidders getting 49.28 per cent.
