US Airways apologises for offensive pic

US Airways has been forced to apologise and scamble to remove a not-safe-for-work image that wound up on its Twitter feed.

US Airways has apologised after a graphic image appeared on its official Twitter feed.

The not-safe-for-work image showed a woman using a model plane as a sex toy.

US Airways has since removed the image from its Twitter feed and tweeted: "We apologise for an inappropriate image recently shared as a link in one of our responses. We've removed the tweet and are investigating."

It is unclear how the image appeared on the feed, but it caused an outbreak of mirth on Twitter.

"someone at @UnitedAirways will be unemployed soon, I'm betting," one user commented.
