US judge to review Bieber video

A Florida judge says he will review police arrest footage of pop star Justin Beiber before deciding next month whether to release it to media.

A US judge will review a police video made shortly after Justin Bieber's arrest to determine if some portions should be withheld, particularly clips depicting him urinating into a cup.

Miami-Dade County Judge William Altfield says he will hold another hearing March 4 after reviewing some of the roughly 10 hours of Miami Beach police video.

Media have argued that there is no legal basis to withhold videos of the 19-year-old pop singer taken after his January 23 arrest.

But media lawyers agreed with the judge's decision to review the videos.

Bieber has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanour charges of DUI, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license.

Police say he and singer Khalil Amir Sharieff were involved in an illegal street drag race.
