In the United States, the critical care nurse who contracted the Ebola virus from a Liberian man who died last week has now been identified as 26 year old Nina Pham.

And the director of the US Centres for Disease Control has apologised for saying earlier that the then unnamed nurse had apparently breached safety protocol in contracting the virus.

Ms Pham and her family are active at a largely Vietnamese Catholic church there in Dallas, Texas, and the church's education director, Tom Ha, talked with Ron Sutton.
