The sentencing of Noor Ellis over the Bali murder of her Australian businessman husband Robert Ellis has been delayed for one week, with judges yet to reach a verdict.

"We're lacking a bit in giving our considerations and we will ensure that next week we will be ready," Judge Wirakanta told Denpasar district court on Wednesday.

Ellis admits she approached five men to "take care of her problems" with her husband of 25 years.

They ambushed him in his Bali villa, slashed his throat and dumped his corpse in a watery ditch last October.

Prosecutors could have pushed for the death penalty for premeditated murder but recommended 15 years.

The couple's sons Peter and John, as well as Mr Ellis' children from his first marriage, Kelvin and Christine, had travelled to Bali for the verdict.

The family believes anything less than 20 years does not serve justice for the brutal death of the popular Bali expat.

Ellis, known also as Julaikah Noor Aini, paid Rp 150 million ($14,220) for the hit to five men, who are on trial for the same charges.

Ellis is scheduled to be sentenced next Wednesday.
