Veruca Salt back making music together

Veruca Salt has said via Twitter that their four original members have got back together and are heading into the recording studio.

Veruca Salt are back together again.

Nina Gordon and Louise Post confirmed via Twitter the US alternative rock band is back together and will release new music in April.

"I'm back in a blonde and heading back to the studio," the band posted on the weekend.

Today they followed that up with artwork for a new record that's due on Record Store Day (April 17).

The Veruca Salt line-up features original members Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Jim Shapiro and Steve Lack.

The band formed in Chicago in 1993 but was rocked by Gordon's departure in 1998 in what was described at the time as "one of the greatest soap operas since Fleetwood Mac". In the following years Veruca Salt had other line-ups.

In a statement Veruca Salt said, "It's been 14 years but the day has finally come: the original members of Veruca Salt are back together and we're doing our thing once more."

The new music will be released as a 10-inch vinyl, with two new Veruca Salt songs on one side and on the other side Seether to mark the 20th anniversary of its release.
