Veteran coach Bob Brett has been hired as the new player development director for British tennis.
The 60-year-old Australian has coached Boris Becker, Goran Ivanisevic, Marin Cilic and others.
Lawn Tennis Association chief executive Michael Downey says Brett "has truly lived in the trenches with the best and against the best."
Brett will oversee all aspects of the LTA's high performance program in a bid to develop "a consistent stream of players who can be competitive at the very highest level."
Beyond Andy Murray, who won Wimbledon last year, Britain has few elite players in the men's or women's game.
Downey says "the board has accepted we're not getting the results we should be getting as a nation" and "we need some change."
